The 2024 Guangming Science City Forum will begin in Guangming District tomorrow, as announced during a press conference by the city government yesterday.
Themed "Guangming: Building Dreams for the Future," the two-day forum aims to foster the development of Guangming Science City.
The forum will include a plenary session, seven parallel forums, and an exchange event. Renowned experts from around the world will deliver keynote speeches. Additionally, a number of key facilities, projects, and institutions will be launched during the forum.
The parallel forums will focus on cutting-edge technologies like AI and new materials, according to Zhu Yun, vice head of the Shenzhen Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the city's economic planner.
Covering 99 square kilometers, Guangming Science City aims to become a leading hub for scientific and technological innovation.
It is now home to 24 innovation platforms, a university campus, and a transitional campus. Construction is under way on nine infrastructure projects, two provincial labs, and 11 scientific research platforms.
