Introduction to the Park Featured attractions

At the initiative of various sectors of Hong Kong, the hilltop of Guangming Dabo Mountain was chosen as the location for the building of Hong Kong Return Pavilion in 1997, marking Hong Kong's return to the motherland. In honor of the return, Tung Chee-hwa, the first chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, inscribed the pavilion's name. The park serves as a patriotism education base and a cultural landscape with the theme of return after its renovations in 2019.

A "one axis, one ring, multiple nodes" structure is formed in the park. "One axis" takes Hong Kong's history and its return journey as the main cultural line; "one ring" refers to increasing ring cycling greenways to activate the leisure and fitness functions; "multiple nodes" take the dense litchi forest as the plant base, connecting a number of landscape leisure nodes, such as the entrance plaza, bamboo cultural landscape wall, etc., through the park road to enhance the diversity of the park.
